Local Firms Garner Best in American Living Awards
Two homes featured during HomeArama 2006 at the Sanctuary were recently honored during the 23rd annual Best In American Living Awards (BALA). Co-sponsored by the National Association of Home Builders and Professional Builder magazine, the national awards recognize the country’s most innovative home designs.
Provident Homes took home the Gold Award for Best One-Of-A-Kind Spec Home in the “6,501 Square Feet and Over” category for their Cedar Rock home, which was designed by residential design firm Carolina Design Group. This is Provident’s third consecutive year being recognized at the BALA ceremony and second Gold award for an overall best home category.
“This is an incredible honor,” said Mike Moore of Provident Homes. “Receiving this kind of recognition from our peers clearly distinguishes our designs and attention to detail.” Provident Homes is dedicated to building homes that provide an exceptional lifestyle and sound investment potential. Christenbury, The Forest, The Palisades, Preservation Pointe, Reverdy Glen, The Sanctuary, Springfield and Stonecroft are among the neighborhoods that feature Provident Homes’ stunning designs.
“We are a unique builder in many ways. Not only do we build custom projects, but we also offer Tailored Homes that greatly reduce the design process,” added Moore. “A ‘one-size-fits-all’ home just isn’t practical these days. But it’s also hard to get comfortable with the time and budget variables involved in custom construction. What we offer is another way to get exactly what your lifestyle and image demands - a TailoredHome. The end result is a home that measures up to our client’s expectations.”
“Provident Homes is always a pleasure to work with,” said Rob Foster, lead designer at Carolina Design Group’s South Charlotte office. “They do an amazing job of bringing our designs to life.”
Also bringing the firm’s designs to life was the Silver Award winner in the same category – Dienst Custom Homes, which garnered the award for their HomeArama residence, Aspenwoods.
The inspiration for the home was an English Manor look merged with a Ritz Carlton feel. As Managing Partner Jocelyn Dienst explains, “Our goal was to keep the upper levels bright by capitalizing on the natural light while developing fantastic living areas such as the kitchen, dining, and staircases with free-flowing spaces.” The lower level complements the sensory experience of the rest of the home and offers the spa element for maximum and all-inclusive luxury.
“We have a great working relationship with Dienst Custom Homes, and it’s great to share this honor with them,” said Trisha Chambers, lead designer at Carolina Design Group’s Lake Norman office.
The BALA is the foremost residential design competition in the country. It pays tribute to those individuals who produce homes that illustrate design quality, success in the marketplace, and exemplify the best in American living. “It’s very gratifying to have our home designs recognized on a national level at the premier competition for residential design,” said Carolina Design Group founder Jim Phelps. Carolina Design Group has designed four of the seven homes that will be featured in this year’s HomeArama at Springfield.
